By reversing the direction of rotation of the motor, you control the hydraulic cylinder/motor in or out. When the unit is not operated, the controlled check valves block so that the oil can flow back into the unit.

Suitable for 1 function. For example, an engine or cylinder. This set can be connected in parallel to a mechanical boat steering pump with steering wheel. No pilot valves required. Compact.
